Journal quilts are made every month for a year as part of a challenge set by the Contemporary Quilt Group of the British Isles as a platform to experiment and try out techniques and ideas.  

These annual projects are organised by The Contemporary Quilt Group of the British Isles.  

Each year members commit to making one small quilt a month for one year with a prescribed size, theme or technique.
This is an opportunity to try out new techniques, ideas, products and materials without committing to huge expense or time.  It is a license to play and experiment. Often the ideas generated with these little experimental pieces lead to larger pieces of work. Click on the image for full size picture.
