These are two small machine stitched sketches - black cotton on calico. They are based on some photos I took near the M Shed in Bristol earlier on in the year.
The top one is based on coils of rope on a boat and reflections in the water.
I drew the design on tissue with a transfer pencil and transferred it to the fabric, but it wasn't clear enough to see under the needle so I drew over it with a Frixion pen, ironed it away and then washed away the transfer pencil.

There was a lovely knitted cover, with a fish design on it wrapped around a railing upright. A bike was chained up beside it.
This time I simply drew straight on to the fabric with the Frixion pen, stitched the design then ironed away the pen marks.
